Welcome to English 9! We'll be looking at education this year - trying to help you become better students who are more interested in learning and more successful in school. One of the things we'll be doing every week is blogging. Please set up a Gmail account and a Blogger account. I'll add your blog to our Classroom Blogs list.
I expect you to blog twice a week - once a week I'll give you a specific topic or prompt, but the other time you can blog on anything related to class, the readings, school, and what you're learning. Please be respectful in your blog. If you are not respectful, then your blog will not be linked to our Classroom Blogs list, and you will not receive credit for that post.
If you find that you like blogging and want to have your own personal blog, feel free to add another blog to your account. I can show you how to do this. But do not use our classroom blog to talk about your personal life.
If you don't have access to computers and/or the internet away from school and would feel more comfortable journaling, you can do so without the use of a blog. Just let me know.
I can't wait to get to know you through your blog this year! And I hope you appreciate getting to know me through my blog as well.
